American Business Forum hosted the International Monetary Fund’s Mission Chief in Pakistan Esther Perez Ruiz for an insightful conversation on the ongoing IMF program for Pakistan. The Counsel General of the US in Lahore, Ms. Kristin K Hawkins, also attended the session.
During the session, Mr. Kamran Ataullah Khan, the President of the American Business Forum, offered a brief introduction to ABF, highlighting its key objectives, as well as the issues and challenges faced by American companies operating in Pakistan.
Ms. Esther Perez Ruiz expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort in organizing a dialogue between the business community and key stakeholders. The primary focus of this engagement was likely to discuss and find ways to enhance Pakistan’s economic performance in the regional context. Ms. Ruiz went on to discuss the importance of the IMF Loan Programme, emphasizing its role in stabilizing economies, addressing fiscal challenges, and implementing structural reforms to promote long-term economic stability in Pakistan.
